Nothing like a customer's testimonial to make a business sound good. ReachLocal.com gets a ringing endorsement from Tony Cena, owner of Colorado Shutters: "As soon as I switched to that company, I would say my revenue went up 20 percent within 1 ½ to 2 months," he says. "I decided to put more money into that and less into creative that wasn't drawing."
ReachLocal is based in Woodland Hills, Calif., and opened a Greenwood Village office in March that has more than 10 employees and claims close to 200 customers. The company says it helps small businesses with a service they rarely have time to do themselves - increasing their visibility on the web via search engine marketing - and offers transparency that enables clients to log on at any time to learn how much of their budget ReachLocal has spent and to check the number of site visitors.
"What sets ReachLocal apart is we go beyond the clicks, and figure out which of those clicks are generating phone calls and online submissions," says Dawn Sierens, Internet Marketing Consultant at the Denver office.
Sierens is drawing many customers from the home improvement sector - "We have HVACs and plumbing companies that generate 80 to 100 phone calls per month," she says - and from attorneys, health care, real estate and services, such as catering and event venues.
"ReachLocal's vision is to help these small to medium-sized businesses. . . .Print directories are becoming a thing of the past," Sierens says.
Ooh, that hurts.
